A belated welcome to 2023.
In truth we’re only in week 3, but last year already feels like it was months ago.
2022 was an exciting and nerve-wracking year for me in equal measures, as I negotiated life outside a job with a regular income I had being doing for 20 years.
Starting a new business comes with its ups and down. There have been plenty of point where a I've really doubted my timings for giving up my ‘safety net’. If I’d had a crystal ball my sensible side would have advised me not to start a business when the economic outlook was so bleak.
I’m so glad I didn’t have that foresight. When I look back now on what I’ve achieved it's hard to believe that in just 12 months I’ve gained an interior design qualification, set up a new business, embraced a whole new world outside the corporate 9-5, embraced social media, leanrt to blog, taken part in a podcast and met a whole new network of people.
I’ve also had a handful of clients - which I’ve been told by an experienced designer who’s been in the industry for 30 years - isn't a bad start.
I’m so glad I don't have the ability to predict 2023, otherwise I'm certain it would hold me back, so I’m going to carry on experimenting - some things may work out and other won't - and I'll try not worry about what I can’t control.
I wonder what I’ll be writing about in another 12 months’ time?
Wishing you all a belated happy and prosperous 2023.
Kate
